I'll be doing not one, but two, presentations on Entity Framework tomorrow night (Jan 21st) at Philly.NET as an INETA sponsored gig.
Normally, Philly.NET has a speaker doing an intro session on something and then their main session. As they were having a hard time scheduling their first speaker, and I never have enough time to try to introduce people to EF, I will be doing both talks. That way, I can take the talk I did at CapArea.NET and split it into two. The first talk will be very introductory (what EF is, a look at querying and updating in a console app, discussion of general capabilities and drawbacks) in a way that is generally not satisfying to me; however, since I get to follow up with another talk, then I get to have my cake and eat it too!
Then in the 2nd session, "You can do *that* with Entity Framework?" I'm going to build an simple app that using some of capabilities that people who haven't spent a lot of time with EF, are usually unaware of.
Philadelphia is one of the rare places I can fly to from Burlington, VT without a layover. Door to door from my house, I can get there in half the time it takes me to drive to Boston and I can work most of that time. Just have to watch out for birds, rather than deer or moose!
