I never figured out how OOF translates to Out of the Office, but that's what I am. I'm on vacation and not blogging though I have posted a tweet or two a day on my twitter account at twitter.com/julielermanVT.
Have a great week!

That's a nice expression. I think I'll have to start using it on the websites I only use while at work and on my work skype.
It stands for Out of Facility. Handy if you don't truly have an office :-).
Not sure as to how OOF every got associated with out of office.
:) interesting. I never knew about it. I will use it as messenger status. On a serious note, using OOF in place of Out of the Office, who's the wise guy started it?
OOF I guess became popular in corporate world due to Microsoft. I remember getting OOF auto responses from them in late 90's.
I had been wondering what OOF meant lol! I feel silly now for not knowing that acronym!
I agree about the abbrevation, but "OO" and "OOTO" both just sound funny. I guess it was the best choice. :)
OOF just sounds funny! Oh well...
OOF should only be used with other technogeeks, as a self-proclaimed technogeek it even baffles me.
Looks more like 'out of funds' the way SOF means short on funds. Wouldn't then ALOOF be 'a little' out of office?
Your blog is very nice. I m really impressed .I m waiting for your next post. Hopefully I will get it soon.
Dallas - lol!
Alternatively
GOOF - gone out of the office!
POOF - Probably out of the office!
TOOF - Totally out of the office!
