The best way I know of to remember them is that a forward-slash leans forward, a back-slash leans backwards:/ – leaning forward\ – leaning back
Arg, evil backslash, fie on it. Does it help to remember that the division symbol is a forward slash? Like James said, i picture a little guy standing in the wind. Feet planted he either falls forwards or backwards, but like a weeble-wooble he never quite makes it to the ground.
The "Back Slash" on a keyboard is under the "BACKSPACE"!!!
