TechEd Winner- Cabanas

The best thing, in my mind at TechEd is the cabanas. So many amazing people hanging out there and everyone and anyone can have access to them. It’s a beautiful space, light, birds. Not great for using computers (sunlight is a problem)…but great, relaxing and a lot of brain power happening in there.

Testing Blink with Ink

I’m now using Blink! in it’s near full capacity lam able to store all of my necessary settings for FTP & Blogger or MetaBlog API usage.

of course that info is encryted when it is persisted to XML!

Drawings are saved locally and the user can upload them at the same time or choose to do that later. in the case of later, the html reflects a local file path.

posts can also be saved locally – since one isn’t always connected. The storage is just xml again.

so since I am on the airplane, without internet access, although better than that, I have christian Nagel ten seats be hind me.

so I will just save this post here and at a later time I hill retrieve it and then post it to my blog.

and just for fun…

Addendum: I now have web access and opened up this saved post and will now post it to my blog.

keynote! Rebecca Dias& WSE2 & IBF & VS2005 Team System

Rebecca Dias did a demo during Ballmer’s keynote this morning. Rebecca is the Product Mgr for web services. It is great that it almost seems like just “the norm” to have a woman doing something so incredibly  visible + extremely important at an event like this. Doing a demo at a Ballmer keynote is no small thing!

WSE2 &IBF (Information Bridge Framework for Office) are what she showed.

what this means is that WSE2 is now RTM’d! Go get it !!!

VS2005 (thanks Korby) “Team System“…..

integrated team mgmt of project, unit testing and FXCop-like error checking and more.

Day One with Pocket PC: I’ve already crashed it

I was fiddling with my new PocketPC and went to System and memory to look at how much memory there was. Then tapped on ok and nothing happened. After a little fiddling around I just pushed the power button but heck it doesn’t turn off. Darn. I’m still not finished packing for TechEd. I thought it would be kind of fun to use. Maybe I’ll clear the battery out and resynch it. Not much to that…

TechEd, MobilePlanet and Wireless Cards

I was just chatting with a sales person from MobilePlanet and when I mentioned shipping conflicts and a conference, she asked if I was on my way to TechEd.

She said that MobilePlanet has a booth there and that their #1 selling product during these conferences is….you guessed it…wireless cards!

So I need an SDIO card and they are NOT cheap …Socket’s is normally $109.95 with a deal right now (through 5/31) for $84.95. Ouch.

I have never had a pocket pc before but it sure seems a lot handier than whipping out even my little ACER tablet while wandering around TechEd. Of course if I don’t go start packing, I won’t be able to do much wandering in public…
